Maybe your real issue is that your boss is a woman. Do you have a superiority complex when dealing with women?

Seriously though, your colour selection is not a big issue. Arrange a time for your boss and you to meet at your computer, edit your base classes to look the way she likes and you are done. As far as BMPs, I would tell her that you can put whatever BMP she likes in the program, but she will have to tell you what files she wants to use. If she doesn't know where to find them, show her what are your resources and have her select what she likes.

The bottom line is that it (colours and BMPs) is not your decision and therefore you should stop guessing and start asking. And if this is the biggest issue with your boss, tell her you really like working for her.
