I have a combo box that is disabled. To match SBT standards, I don't want it to look disabled. So I set the disabled fore and back colors to the enabled equivalent (black and white respectively). It didn't work. The background is white, but the text is an unreadable grey. Not just grey, but splotchy, like it's missing most of the pixels.

As a test, I changed the (dis) forecolor to orange, and that worked. Then I changed it back to black, and got the splotchy grey.

I found a solution: change the color to 0,0,1. It's close enough to black that the user isn't going to see a difference and it shows up properly.

So I'm not really looking for a solution. This is more a curosity about why this behaviour occurs. Anyone know?

Thanks,

Michelle
