DOES have these features. At least the Professional version does. I must admit I'm surprised by this.

MS had to put these features in it because so many people were complaining that NT was not laptop friendly. Of course, they were complaing 2 years ago when battery life was a paltry 1.5 hours.
As you said, I would never use this feature on a desktop (even it weren;t a server). But if it is my laptop, maybe.
