It sounds like your just running a query and measuring the time it takes to return a result. As you probaly know, a database is much more than that. What about the data that is returned to the client, it needs to be validated, queried, reported on, etc. In VFP you have a very flexible cursor engine for this, but what are you to do in C++, write your own or use Borlands? Nah....
