You don't requery a grid per se. Rather, you requery the underlying cursor. If you just requery the underlying cursor, you don't lose any settings. If you need to change the recordsource to an alias of a different name, setting the recordsource to an empty string, and then setting the recordsource to the cursor name will work. I have done this on many occasions... FWIW, 5.0 and 6.0 grids work no differently in this regard...

For example, column widths and font properties are altred leaving you with the task of re-defining them each time the record source is modified. It seems silly to have to re-define grid properties each and everytime the record source is modified. VFP 5.0 did not work this way, and I am not sure why they changed the way the grid operates in 6.0.
