Hi all,
I know several folks in my area that are highly qualified in VFP and are looking for work but haven't had any luck; I did a search in several job sites and truly jobs in VFP in Canada seem to be scarce.
I tried the same search for jobs in the States and the number was highly superior. Any idea of this *phenomena*? I know about the issue of Foxpro being dead or not, but I've read that VFP 7.0 is coming on strong. What's happening down there that is not happening here? Do you folks there get better advertising? (Where?) It is a pity that MSFT is not advertising VFP up here since it is really damaging the image of developers that are affected by the lack of information. Lot of companies have bad stories about systems that were developed in FP for DOS and unfortunately weren't too solid, since all the data validation that was needed wasn't perhaps in place.
Company managers won't know what products are good unless they're told by the media, and yes, if they see and hear about VB all over the place, it's logical they will want development done mostly in languages they at least have heard about.
Just wondering.
