Don't forget that the population in the US is about 10 times higher than Canada, so I'd expect the job market to be about 10 times bigger.

I've been programming in FoxPro since 1990 and have never been unemployed, but the FoxPro market isn't as big as the VB one, even here in Montreal.

Learning VB is not that complicated once you master VFP. The interface and the langage is similar, it just doesn't have many features found in VFP. I use it for some COM in my projects. Aside from being the right tool to do that job, it give me the experience needed if I'm looking for a job and no VFP contract is available.
