I know about the issue of Foxpro being dead or not, but I've read that VFP 7.0 is coming on strong. What's happening down there that is not happening here? Do you folks there get better advertising? (Where?) It is a pity that MSFT is not advertising VFP up here since it is really damaging the image of developers that are affected by the lack of information. Lot of companies have bad stories about systems that were developed in FP for DOS and unfortunately weren't too solid, since all the data validation that was needed wasn't perhaps in place.

Interesting. I have seen here locally a huge drop in demand for VFP, FPW,
and PowerBuilder contracts. However, the demand for Web developers is BIG!
I think this is a natural transition as people want to develop "thin client"
applications where the client only requires a web browser to run the app.

It also eliminates distribution problems with dlls, etc.

I do not know if Canada is moving to the web but I suggest you scan for
skills such as: ASP, JavaScript, VBScript, Cold Fusion, Java, Oracle,
SQL Server, ADO, etc.

Good luck, sounds like "retooling time".
