Michel;

I was wondering if there would be some way to get the threaded messages historically offline. I'm assuming that you have everything in a big dbf file/memo file and link messages through some common field. So wouldn't it be possible to just zip the dbf every week into a downloadable file to be available?

I would even consider writing a small program to browse through.

AND... if that's possible, then an offline navigator like NAVCIS would also be possible, wouldn't it?

A user would sign on, and click on "GET ALL MESSAGES SINCE LAST LOGIN" - your foxpro backend would select them into a dbf/fpt file, automatically zip them, and either download or email the zipped file. Since this is just a small bit of text, it wouldn't be a big hit on the internet access, right?

At the user end, there would be a foxpro program to unzip the file, add into the local dbf and position the form to display the messages at the last point. (all this is configurable...) Then, if the user makes a reply, it goes into another file, which is then zipped, uploaded (emaileD?) and integrated at your end into the database....

Am I reaching too far? Do you think you'd be doing a lot of heavy traffic? Are you willing to download all of the information?

Anyone else have some brilliant ideas on how to accomplish the above?

Jim.
