Some of you may already know about the current bug in PHDBase when being run under a COM. The famous message "Low memory streaming output has been disabled" is being shown when PHDBase is invoked. The problem with that is that the message box sits there and wait for a key press. And, of course, when being run on a server, this is not acceptable.

This message is shown based on specific criterias. And, one of them, is when it is run under a COM. Many people are experiencing that situation. No one seems to have found a workaround for it. Jim is aware of the problem. We have contacted him last week. However, it may take some time before he releases a new version. We also have to send him some simulation code and this is extremly difficult to reproduce.

So, I decided to isolate the PHDBase PHD command into a COM. I had this idea when I found that I was not able to simulate the bug when having the PHD command into the main COM. I thought that maybe there would be a problem when running it under a COM of a specific size, having a lot of stuff in memory, etc. So, I decided to isolate it in a very small COM so only the PHD command will be done with a few other lines to convert result from a cursor into an array.

I am testing it right now. So far, I haven't gotten the message.

We will continue our test. If all goes well, I will release the COM object code I have done for that.
