Hi Dave

As to the client's lack of interest in a framework, are you not building any custom code <g>? If you are, any other developer will have 0% chance of already knowing what you've done. There is at least a possibility that another programmer might have used the same framework as you. Framework or not, there's a large learning curve when one programmer takes over for another. Further, there's invariably a desire for the subsequent programmer to drastically modify the existing code. This will be the case because the subsequent programmer MUST either be better or worse than the first. If much better, (s)he'll not understand the code and want to reduce it to his/her level. If much worse, (s)he'll want to improve it. Either way, the client pays the price.

Consider that most frameworks are huge collections of well written, well documented function libraries. The functions are tested to death by large numbers of other programmers. Another programmer would be nuts to try and alter the framework.
