In each of these columns there are at least two editors working together, because they check each others work.

Got it. But what about a technical check on code in an article written by a Contributing Editor? Who does that -- just the writer?

BTW, in our newspaper, we tried for perfection with many cross-checks, but often found *something* after publication (usually a misspelled word) that slipped through. :-)
