What exaclty do you mean ?? Index files can have another extension than .CDX, yes. If looking at different VFP implementations you'll see that the *.DCX file of a database is really a normal .CDX file. In general you can name your index file with almost every extensions you wish, but I think you'll have problems to automaticly open them when you're opening the table.
