Hi David, good idea.

I just opened one of them, in Word 97, and can see the long file name and type in the "title" property.

My client has something like 10,000 file in this format! So just manually opening it and saving it will not work. I need to write a process to automate it...guess it's time to learn Visual Basic? I was hoping that I could handle it in VFP - generate an exe, etc....any suggestions/ideas?
