I think there are many other factors that transcend any promo efforts made by JVP or anyone else.

Some are:

[1] Greater employment opportunities
[2] Forced to do so by current employers
[3] Finding the time to learn VB in the face of already-insane schedules
[4] VB7

There are others, I'm sure.

While others may disagree, I never did like JVP's ram-it-down-your-throat VB discussions. And him being a marginal twit didn't make it any better.
