Win2k does it, Bruce. I think Win98SE as well. However, I believe that IE5 doesn't. From what I recall, if the system doesn't have it, and you're running IE 5, then you need to unistall IE 5, install IE 4, then re-install IE 5. It comes with IE 4. Of course, given the above, it'd be a lot easier just to do an install from the files at the MS site. One of the files you can check for is the wscript.exe file in the windows directory. There's also cscript.exe (which provides the console compliment to wscript.exe). While it's not a 100% reliable indication, the presence of this file can be used as an indicator. If it's not present, then WSH hasn't been installed. If it is, then the registry can be used to confirm its presence. I think just looking for the a key with the .vbs extension under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, might be next or looking in the SYSTEM directory for VBSCRIPT.DLL.
