Are your tables on a server? Can you make sure the server is releasing the locks? Is this your EDIT button or the VFP Wizard's button? If it is the Wizard's, I would still bet their is an explicit lock somewhere in the parent class code.

Since I use optimistic buffering only [table mostly, record rarely], I am the extent of my pessimistic buffering knowledge.
