>they're planning on bringing up the Payroll modules first on Jan 1 and then the Accounting mods on Sept 1 the next year (when our fiscal year closes), and we average 4.5 million records processed per month, so it should get real fun real fast, wouldn't you say?

I guess we're using it for Payroll now too, though I don't deal with that area much. But we only have around 1500 employees & contractors. I have heard no complaints about performance, as I say. All the complaints are about the unfriendly interface and the bugginess. That's the first thing I would be concerned about - it may actually perform decently, though I always test that too, with large DBs & many users (stress-testing). I think Peoplesoft has done this, at least in a generic environment. It just has the "feel" to it of an app that does not have major stress problems (and I say this as someone who really doesn't like the product very much, but I won't bash them without cause). But I would keep my old system in parallel for a few months with *any* new system.

Amazingly some of our in-house systems do not test this way, they bring an entire system up without any stress-testing, and are shocked to find that it stops working with 10-15 users :) These are PB/Sybase systems, not vfp.
