>1) Why is that when I first open EM on my server and try to drill down to my databases - it sometimes tells me something to the effect of it "can't verify that MY_SERVER_NAME is running - do I want to connect anyway" Of course the server is running - on the same stupid machine - so what's up? It always connects fine.

I'm not sure why this happens. I see it alot.

>2) I don't know if this is related to above or not - but in EM, my server icon on the left shows the little green "started" arrow but also has a red, vertical, squiggly line going through it. What does this mean? All seems to work normally despite this icon. PLus - I don't remember always seeing this - just of late.

The red "squiggly line" icon means that you're connected to the server.

>3) Again - not sure if related to above but I noticed that under security\remote servers is an entry for my server - the one and only one I have - so why is it there? It's all on the same machine. I didn't make this, so I must assume the installation process did? Can I delete it? what's up with it?

It is normal to have one entry in sysservers for the local server. In fact, you can't configure registration correctly unless it's there. I'm not sure what SQL Server does with it.
