I can see that point related to the content and technical accuracy of the magazine, but not for internal management decisions about whether to respond publicly to your challenges.

Clearly? How do you measure that, scientifically? I think it would be more accurate to say "Among those who have responded in this thread, a majority have expressed appreciation for the candor expressed..."
"Most" sounds like maybe 85%+, and is one of the most misleading words in the English language. There may be many with differing opinions from yours who don't want to risk being flamed for saying so.
I'm not surprised at all that those who support your position have posted publicly. There's not much risk in that. It *is* possible that those are your only supporters :-) -- mostly kidding, but an interesting thought.
