Hi Jerry,
>The real problem with Advisor mags is one of range of content & timelyness versus the kind of support one can get on this forum and other internet sources. From our perspective, UT and google has supplanted hardcopy mags. The writing is on the wall.
"Google"?
As to the rest of your sentiments, I agree completely. I don't see how a technical magazine of the types we have now will survive down the road. They are too broad-spectrum. If you have a problem, or have found a solution to a problem, you post the question or solution online. What are the odds that a paper mag is going to have an article about a problem/solution that you are facing at that particular time?
Occasionally, there is a "wow" article in FPA or FoxTalk that makes the issue worth it. And columns by people who's insights I value or who write entertainingly such as Jim and Whil.
Maybe what's more appropo in the paper media are targeted mini-books or newsletters about specific features of Fox. Kinda like the old "Pros Talk" series.
