Thank you Fred. I think that's it.

I've narrowed it down to 2 problems. App2's menu shows, but the program keeps on going past the read events and goes back to app1. This would be annoying by itself, but the app1 restore doesn't stick.

>If these are 2 separate .APPs running inside the same instance of VFP, you can only have one READ EVENTS. It sounds more like you need to redesign the two APPs to be more cooperative with each other, maybe by having a "manager" app that has the READ EVENTS and it starts APP1 first.
