If they're not hosting something like Web Connection they're surely not going to allow you any COM components either. COM components are a major hassle for ISP hosted sites and if I were an ISP I wouldn't let anybody put one on a multi-homed server. That one app could do all sorts of nasty stuff from crashing the server to maliciously hacking the other sites.

If you want dynamic code wihtout scripting I would pretty much count on having to co-locate a box. If a provider does let you do COM on their box I'd be very wary about their understanding of the process - they're going to have to be a full service provider for you to update components etc, shutting down the server and so on.

Finally, if you have a provider that doesn't let you do what you need to do, get one that does. There is plenty of competition in ISPs and there are several out there that specialize in VFP hosting both for ASP and WWWC. For a list of a few see:

>>>Does anyone know if there will be better support for using a VFP backend database in a ASP/ADO web application? It seems that there are many problems with the current support such as the lack of OLEDB connections to VFP (straight ODBC only), and other little quirks with recordset types not being supported, and problems with updating and inserting into a VFP memo field (sometimes). I'm using a hosting company that installs very few components to work with, so unfortunately using WWWC is not possible...just using the basic ASP/ADO, some scripting and VID as my IDE. I guess I'm looking for a few suggestions/Tips/Techniques from anyone using these technologies, and if what I'm doing has some life, or will I need to re-think my development strategies in the very near future.
