I think you're right, Evan. I think that I read that while every other stockholder will get stock in both companies, Bill Gates only gets stock in one. Sounds like punishment to me. I don't really care about how much money he loses. However, what I do care about is why one person is treated one way and another another way.

I think that what's motivating this are people looking for a "political trophy" to hang on the wall to further their own careers. Not the well-being of the computer public.
