>Thanks for the input guys. I now have an ON SHUTDOWN routine that works whereas before I did not. I would still like to not have the menu that goes along with the 'controlbox'. It is very confusing for my users (they are mostly veryyyy low grade computer users and having the control box menu participate with my regular menu is disconcerting). I know this is not according to the interface standard but I am not trying to be certified - not in that sense anyway. So my question is -IS THERE ANY WAY TO DISABLE THE MENU BUT HAVE THE CONTROLBOX AVAILABLE???

Nope, they're linked together. From my POV, Calvin, since the control box is and has been a standard with Windows applications, the solution is training the users, not trying to create a non-standard interface. One of the things that Windows tries to do is create an environment that is consistent from application to application. This is so that the end user spends less time either training on a product or otherwise learning it, and more time being productive. The is beneficial not only to the individual, but to the employer as well because it serves to reduce costs and increase productivity. Creating a non-standard interface serves to do the opposite.
