I would have to disagree with this comment. Do a search for wc.dll and see how many sites are using Rick Strahl's Web Connection software. I am not saying that it compares with the amount of Java sites out there, but there definitely is a presence that is growing. I think the Web makes it a more level playing field. Does the user care what tool you used to develop the app? What OS it's running on? Not in the least. So developers are free to choose whatever platform they want and don't have to worry about what platform the client wants to use. The problems with VFP development are more with finding experienced developers than performance issues in my opinion. Just my 2 cents.
