Great point Daniel... that's exactly what I thought the first time. So I went out and set (use extended file handles = ON) but it doesn't work! Maybe its a different setting?

Wait.. Now that I re-read your post... it references not RELEASING the file handles... not just running out of them. Any thoughts on the fix to this? Probably upgrading to the latest version would be the first step.... ya, I'll try that.
