I have never been to Hawaii. My friend went there when his girlfriend was on a business trip there. They loved Maui, finding it full of very friendly (and huge) people. They hated Honolulu, which to them embodied the worst of the corruption, class-prejudice, and commercialization that afflict Hawaii (according to some people they knew). Anyhow, one never has to go too far to have a complete change of scenery.
