Hi Dave,

I use crystal in two modes I guess. The first is as a report generator that allows users to select and print pre-prepared reports. It has great features that the native VFP report writer probably never will - an object model, linked sub-reports and so on. Note that the users don't need to own a copy of crystal to use it in this mode.

The second is as a power tool for a (very select) few end users. They do need training (and then some), but it makes their data REALLY available to them. note that each of these power users needs a crystal license.

Cheers,

Andrew

>Crystal may be a bit too heavy for my users - but no doubt a wise choice in certain circumstances. I wouldn't mind letting them loose in a data warehouse with such a tool, but I'd be a bit concerned on the live data on a network that's already heavily loaded.

If we were to introduce Visual FoxBase+, would we be able to work from the dotNet Prompt?
