I have a different view of this than most people. I don't believe in holding the client hostage. I give them the source for the framework with their app. It is stated in writing that they do not own the framework and that they cannot transfer iot to anyone else. I keep the copyright on teh framework but I give them the source so they can maintain their own application if they choose to.
