I keep the copyright on teh framework but I give them the source so they can maintain their own application if they choose to.

It's the same as me regarding the copyright stuff in the contract. The only difference is that I don't include the code at first. :)

But, the most important part, I guess, is to clearly define who has the rights on the framework and make that clear to the client.
