I don't know if it has something to do with different header file bet. FPW2.x and VFP. The table that I am using here was created purely in VFP. Try Opening the table in exclusive mode and then modify the structure? Other things of considerations like, REINDEX, PACK, SET DELETED ON, Tag on DELETED().
