Hi Per,
Thank you for your conmments on the communication via a communication port. I'm glad somebody teel me about the activeX. I appreciate your message, he help me on this.
The situation is the communication between my scale and my application is done. I have a complete control on it. I send a request and the scale give me the weight. I can turn the power on or off, change the unit, etc.
Now i have another problem, i dont understand something about the Microsoft Comm Control (activeX). I don't now if you can help me on this. Maybe you can give me tips.
The problem is i want to trap error when the user do someting wrong. The first thing is the DB9(RS232) is not connect properly. I unconnect the DB9 from the scale and i start my application form. The form do a connect to the com1 and close it. Supprise! The computer do a COLD REBOOT. Foxpro and Window 95 don't see nothing. No error code, nothing. Just a Reboot. Do you believe this?
I realy need help on this, I realy need to trap this error.
Thank you,
Version: Visual Foxpro 5
