This makes sense. A copy from a network drive actually moves the data from the source drive to memory on your local PC, and then from your local PC's memory to the target. The network is being visited twice. If you're using a network that's slow relative to the speed of your local hard drive, the whole thing makes sense, and short of a faster LAN, there isn't much that can be done.
