Nigel,

>I started this thread because I received a copy saying 'Please send me a copy of this too, my email address is ...' - why did I get a copy of this???. BTW, this is not the first time by far.

I understand how this might be a problem and I'm sorry for perhaps overstating my case.

>I see by your ID you've not been here long, wait til you get lots of these then see if you've still got the same response.

1) It seems to me in the sort time that I've been here that the growing reputation this place is getting is well deserved. Users that are not liked by "the group" or questions that do not meet "the groups" standards are open to hostile and crude remarks or they get flamed. If someone says something that "the group" does not like... they are outed, or I believe it is called twitted here. Chats are often nothing more than gossip sessions about so and so's stupid questions and/or stupid answers. Daily criticism and/or complaining etc. All this is well known outside this place and now that I've visited a few times I see it to be the truth and not just idle chat.

Mind you, I am not saying that YOU do this but it can be observed on an almost daily basis.

2) The point I tried to make was this. How do you judge when a person is honestly trying to keep someone informed? It is impossible to do is it not?
Granted there may be some that abuse this, there is no doubt about it but in a public and open forum there has to be a measure of acceptance of the fact that there will be some things along the way that we may not like but the overall good of the place gives us pause to accept the bad as grown ups.

In other words you can't have it both ways. You can not have the conveninece of the forwarding without an occasional fly in the ointment.

3) Life is full of minor irritations and after a while they can become a major headache. As Adults, however, we have to learn to deal with them and move on.

Personaly, I do not use the forwarding as my understanding is this... if a person is interested in the thread they will read it, if not, they will not.

Finally, I thought I had a right to express my opinion. As an outsider I can see that it was not welcome. Please accpet my apology and assurance that you will not be bothered with me again.
Ed Thomas
