>1) It seems to me in the sort time that I've been here that the growing reputation this place is getting is well deserved. Users that are not liked by "the group" or questions that do not meet "the groups" standards are open to hostile and crude remarks or they get flamed. If someone says something that "the group" does not like... they are outed, or I believe it is called twitted here. Chats are often nothing more than gossip sessions about so and so's stupid questions and/or stupid answers. Daily criticism and/or complaining etc. All this is well known outside this place and now that I've visited a few times I see it to be the truth and not just idle chat.

I see no evidence of this - mind you, I don't frequent the chatter section very much and avoid anything that may look personal.

>Mind you, I am not saying that YOU do this but it can be observed on an almost daily basis.

>2) The point I tried to make was this. How do you judge when a person is honestly trying to keep someone informed? It is impossible to do is it not?
>Granted there may be some that abuse this, there is no doubt about it but in a public and open forum there has to be a measure of acceptance of the fact that there will be some things along the way that we may not like but the overall good of the place gives us pause to accept the bad as grown ups.
>

I accept your point but all I was after was that people be reminded when they are about to forward to others that they must consider whether those people actually need to be forwarded a copy.

>In other words you can't have it both ways. You can not have the conveninece of the forwarding without an occasional fly in the ointment.

>3) Life is full of minor irritations and after a while they can become a major headache. As Adults, however, we have to learn to deal with them and move on.

I repeat my original point, some of us spend a lot of time answering questions and get a lot of genuine replies, to have to sift through replies that the sender should have spent a millisecond thinking 'do I really need to press all these extra buttons' is a waste of our time. One person holding back on these buttons can save a dozen people having to open and delete an irrelevant reply. Saves bandwidth too.

>Personaly, I do not use the forwarding as my understanding is this... if a person is interested in the thread they will read it, if not, they will not.

>Finally, I thought I had a right to express my opinion. As an outsider I can see that it was not welcome. Please accpet my apology and assurance that you will not be bothered with me again.

Hey, we're happy to help anybody who asks a question, it was just the wording you chose in your reply that, I feel, was a little OTT.
