Just let me say you are not using FoxPro's Data Engine. You are using ADO via ODBC, which is very slow compared to native VFP. Remember VB does not have a data engine built in. VFP is data centric so it can use Rushmore Technology to it's full advantage.

I presume you are running the process through a FOR Loop. You might be at the technical limit of the ADO ODBC technology.
