What I'm saying is that I'm seeing something different than your experience.

I'm saying that properly designed, the user couldn't tell whether data came from FoxPro natively or thru the VFP ODBC driver. There would be no noticeable difference in speed.

This may or may not be important depending upon your requirements. ODBC does not make use of Rushmore Technology or the Visual FoxPro data engine.
