Dumb SWAG, but is it possible that the files are flagged as Read-Only? I've never seen a C...5 from opening something with the Class Browser that's read-only, but coming off CD extracted from VSS strongly suggests the file might be flagged read-only.

The only other things that I can think of are corrupted registry entries on your system, or garbage living in the FOXUSER resource file. I'd try renaming my FOXUSER .DBF and .FPT to something else, letting VFP create new ones from scratch, and I'd skim through the options subkey for VFP6 to see if anything bizarre was there.

If you got FOXUSER files with the app, that'd be the most promisingsource of problems...

>>The first thing to do is to try to clean and recompile the class libraries under VFP6. You may have problems with the The VCX and VCT are the class library; the VCA is used to store the class library under VSS in an 'ASCII-fied' form. The VCA is used by VSS to create the VCX and VCT when they're pulled out of VSS.
