This sounds like a network permissions problem. It's probably just coincidence that it works on machines with VFP installed. How have you defined the network resource on the server? If you've selected "Depends on password" for the Access Type, does it work with the same login name and password that you use on a computer without the problem? If you change the Access Type to "Full", does that fix the problem? (You may have to have the workstation logout, and reboot the server after changing these settings to make them take effect.)
