I am sure enhancements will be made to VFP. Is that the same thing as taking it forward? I don't know. Certainly, I think it is fair to say that VFP will not be innovated to build C/S, web apps, and multi-tier. That is what .Net is for.

Here is an example. Does intellisense take VFP forward? I say no. It does allow VFP to catch-up. Certianly, it does not take the product forward.
