Why didn't you ask what were some of the reasons why we upgraded our IRC server? This was not the only reason. And related to that, why someone should think he/she should enter the Universal Thread with a UT consultant password in order to get the admin rights? The same applies here. Why should someone have admin rights on the IRC channels? We need to have a pre defined set of locked rooms which goes with all of our forums and also opened at all time even if noe one is in there. We need to make sure no one is allowed to create bad messages of the day when entering a room. We need to make sure we lock some usernames in order for the maintenance. We need to limit admin rights to admin people. We need to increase our automatic logging features, etc. All those points were enough to justify the upgrade of our IRC server. And, one of them, as explained, relates to restrict admin rights to UT people, which is pretty normal I believe as it is here. I also mentioned that if during a lecture, someone should be given full rights for the session, there wouldn't be any problem with that. If for some reason, no one from the admin team can attend a session, a request can be send to us in order to pre defined a username and to allow him/her full access.

In other word, would you be ready to give to someone admin rights to your Web server? Probably not

So, seriously, what's the big deal?
