I guess I am starting from too far behind, John. That's why I am looking for a description of the entire process after the creation of the .dll. I am just trying to get my feet wet with COM. I have created a .dll with one object class with one method that converts a date into an 'age,' and I want to use it in a Word doc. to see how that goes. Actually, I am using the Liskin article in the latest (Sept.) FP Advisor and trying to do what she says at the end and "...use the syntax supported by thatlanguage for instantiating COM objects." Is it necessary to use VBA do do this in Word?

I understand this is probably too big a question for this thread, but, as I say, I am looking for some documentation of the process. MSDN doesn't give me anything that I can see.

Thanks, John.
