If you are going to use the DLL in Word (assuming Word version 97 or better), then you are going to do this in VBA code using the code example I posted as a jumpstart. That quote from Miriam's article is a bit wide-reaching, but is true. So the syntax you need is VBA since Office's programming and macro language is VBA.

Actually, I am using the Liskin article in the latest (Sept.) FP Advisor and trying to do what she says at the end and "...use the syntax supported by thatlanguage for instantiating COM objects." Is it necessary to use VBA do do this in Word?
