>It is half truth! It does not present what may be ( and probably is) his clients BEST interest... that is an objective look at ALL possible solutions. Ie.... the best tool for the job. Again, an attitude that you seem to demand of others.

Very well. Your assignment, assuming you are up to the task, is to re-write the guy's letter in a way that would not be a "half-truth"...
>
My jumping into this was in direct response to your words of defense and a simple expression of my light hearted observation and opinion. Your response, which I quoted seems in direct contrast to other comments that you frequently make (ie... where is the proof... where are the benchmarks...etc) and which sometimes (but not always) have some validity.

Different context. Remember, one size does not fit all. No cookie-cutter responses from me..
>Why then was it marketed to so many FOX developers? Humm... that does not strike you as worth thinking about? Surly a legal mind would want to investigate that! < s >
>
Who besides Fox developers have aging Fox applications???? Seems like a logical place to start.
>How can anyone make this claim..... of working is my clients BEST interest when they are promoting half truth? Ethics would demand a complete and honest presentation of facts to a client. I believe that when that is done on a consistant basis you (meaning anyone...not JVP) will be a winner. If you have to lie (half truth is a lie) to get business then it will at some time...come back to haunt you. (again.... anyone...not JVP)
>
It is in your client's best interest for you, the developer, to have an open mind...
>
I guess it was. < s > It seems it was lost on a lot of Fox Developers that also got the letter.
>
Yep..common thead there...< s >...

The way I see it with the assertion that.... my tools will never corrupt index files like Fox. That is half truth. Any system can have an index file corrupted. That is the full truth.
>
He is not saying that....
>
You may have a point...perhaps I overstated but I still contend that half truth is wrong and is just as bad as a lie. Also my response was more to your.... what is wrong with that comment that seemed to me to say that....anything is OK as far as going after clients is concerned.
>
Yes, you over-stated the point...

Anyway, I won't take any more of your time. There are too many people that need your help with their important technical questions. < vbg >
Lame sarchasm duly noted...
