I'm not sure what I mean either!

Recent projects have allowed me to explore using Excel and Word as output service for VFP. The Word "TABLE" feature (AWA Excel) both have a "Cell" vba (?) component. It reminded me of the old @x,y slewing from my DOS daze. I'm a newbie to most of Windows features. BUT, I liked using the GETOBJECT/CREATOBJECT feature to (sort of) "RUN" (at least) Excel and Word.

I WAZ WUNDERING: Can other desktop apps be "run" this way, how might I learn if they can - or does instanciating (if that is what GETOBJ does), rather than runnining, just work with MS programs. I can "RUN" word, or I can CREATEOBJECT word. AND, I don't know enough to explain why, or determine whether I could/should "RUN"/GET/CREATEOBJECT with other apps on the desktop. I think it's a COM/VBA thing and just scratching for hints. Ya know what I mean?
