I was playing around with this last night and found that I could transfer the scx and sct files from the VFP builder directory with no problem. Could it only affect files I've generated? I'm beginning to wonder if it might be security-related. Thanks again, I'll let you know if I discover a cure.
Bob,
I am signed on as Administrator so it should not be a permission thing.
In the same session I can copy older .scx files and if I create a file with notepad and give it a .scx extension, then it copies onto the CD OK. All of the .scx files that I created prior to July 2000 copy OK. The same problem exists if I try to put a recent .scx file from the server onto the CD. I can modify and save the file on the server and of course on the workstation. Both are W2K.
I am concerned that it is somehow related to the odd file corruption that I am getting now, which was non existant when I was using NT4. Both of these machines were clean installs of W2K. Both use NTFS.
All of the other files/folders that I have tried will copy onto the CD except for my recent "Forms" and "Reports". I suspect that it must be a Microsoft VFP thing, I wonder if they do anything different with these two types of files.
Adding .vcx and .prg files copy OK
regards.
