Although, I've made my statement in another thread, I'd like to inteject here.

I'm glad the tone of this thread has cooled off and I quite enjoy reading eloquent exchanges of ideas. Allan, I like the way you've made your statement. Also, your viewpoints about which platform to use are quite similar to my own as well as, I believe, many of us here.

John, I wish no ill will towards you, but many of your comments have tended to be long-winded and inflammatory. And for me to call you long winded is a big thing! [g]

But seriously, please, in future postings, you might want to try to sum it up a little better and limit the number of shots you take. We're all guilty of pointing the finger at the other guy, so I'm not requesting that you stop altogether. But could you try to be a little less angry and contemptuous in your responses? You've got some very good points to make and that shows that to some degree, you must know your stuff. Just try to be a little more cooperative could ya? We'd all appreciate it.

Thanks again.

>I should add that I never trash anyone else's development tool of choice. I have used Access in the past and I'm just starting to learn VB and think it is a great product. But, so is VFP - it does everything I need it to do and EXTREMELY FAST. The VB guys here (very smart and experienced I may add) are continually amazed at the speed of processing large amounts of data in my VFP apps.

>Point is, each tool has it's place, including IHMO VFP. I have read with interest a few threads in which your opinions have quite obviously infuriated a large number of people. I think that most VFP developers have respect for VB as a development tool, but my take on the issue (based on what I've read) is you have a total lack of respect for VFP. That, I think, is what has caused the hard feelings here.

>Whether of not you agree with the above is of little consequence to me - however, I don't feel I'm out of line in making these comments.
