There will of course be other issues. As far as those go, I agree with you that a good developer is a good developer. As a good developer, it's less important what language you use than knowing what you need to get done. "What" is always more important than "how". If you know "what" then the correct "how" should be obvious - if not obvious, then it's at least a lot easier to find out.
