>Last week we had in São Paulo city one of the biggest software events of the world (FENASOFT 97) and one friend of my heard from Microsoft Brazil people. "If you are going to choose one windows language go to Visual Basic even you are clipper developer, because visual basic market is bigger and the focus of Microsoft language"

All my friends are working with Delphi or Visual basic. Only me are right?. It is possible the majority are wrong?. Frequently these questions and many others are concerning me.

Antonio,
I fully understand your concerns. I periodically lookup job offerings just to see what other companies are looking for. I've just finish searching one of many job search websites and found only 10 entries for keyword "Foxpro" and close to 80 for keyword "VB". It's little disconcerning. I've worked with Fox since 1.02 (8 years now) and finally feel comfortable working with VFP but I now feel I have to also keep up-to-date on VB too (and maybe C++, Java, ActiveX, Web, etc). I guess my nights are going to get even longer... Thank God at least some of this stuff is somewhat interesting. I guess this is the price we all pay for accepting our "fate" :)))

John
It's "my" world. You're just living in it.
